Reported by RT, Huawei’s blacklisting by the US, means US tech companies may lose $40 billion. The Chinese tech giant has been taking it business to Europe. Investing largely on the companies there.

As written on the RT article, “In an interview with AFP, Huawei explained that the decision was a direct result of Washington banning American companies from selling technology to the group. According to Huawei, there will be consequences for American companies such as Qualcomm, Intel, Micron, and Google. Huawei usually spends over $10 billion a year on semiconductors, spare parts, and services for its smartphones and network equipment.”

Huawei has been securing its supply chain and has been also supplying its 5G antennas worldwide to 60 clients as it has has reported. It seems the tech giant is coming out unscathed from the US restrictions, something that has been spearheaded by US president Donald Trump. A poor decision that shows signs of affecting US tech companies severely.

From the 60 clients Huawei has reported to have supplied, half of them are from Europe. A European cloud is going to be set up allowing storage amongst other things. Giving the company manoeuvrability from going through US tech giants.

It is the ability to decide
