The Return of Rugby Titans
Maybe it was already sealed fate when the Springboks won the Four Nations, that they will lift the Webber Ellis cup. However, the clash that has taken place this Saturday against England was phenomenal.
It has been 12 years since the Springboks have won the Rugby World Cup, but it was exactly against England that they had won it. With the International Yokohama Stadium filled with English supporters it was an away game for the Springboks.
But they dominated the game as if it was a home game. An offensive platform built off a destructive strong scrumming game, the South Africans stayed ahead on penalty’s and drew out the sword for the kill with two tries. The tries coming from the both wings, Makazole Mapimpi and Cheslin Kolbe, one was a jab and the other an uppercut.
Conclusion, South Africa won 32-12.
This win was symbolic and important to the nation of South Africa, led by Siya Kolisi who wears the iconic number 6, once worn by the legendary former Captain Francois Pienaar.
